Mastering the Interface – Understanding the LED & LCD Display
Share
Your AmpBox features a dual‑layered feedback system: a 3.2-inch LCD screen for deep diagnostics and a multi‑segment LED bar for instant visual status. Mastering both allows you to assess system health at a glance — even without the mobile app.
1. The LCD Display: Deep‑Dive Data
The JK‑BMS 3.2-inch LCD cycles through multiple high‑resolution data screens, giving you detailed insight into your AmpBox’s performance.
Main Status Screen
- Voltage (V): Total pack voltage (typically 48V–56V).
- Current (A): Positive = charging, negative = discharging.
- SOC (%): Calculated based on your configured Ah capacity (280/306/314Ah).
-
Status Icons:
- CHG: Charge MOSFET active.
- DSG: Discharge MOSFET active.
- BAL: 2A Active Balancer is equalizing cells.
The Cell Voltage Screen
- Displays Cells 01–16 with real‑time voltages.
- Voltage Delta (Δ): Difference between highest and lowest cell.
-
Healthy Range:
- 0.005V–0.020V at rest = excellent.
- 0.100V+ under heavy charge = balancer will engage.
2. The LED Status Bar: At‑a‑Glance Monitoring
The LED bar is designed for quick “drive‑by” checks — perfect for monitoring from across the room.
| LED Behavior | Meaning | Action Required |
|---|---|---|
| Running (Flash Green) | System operating normally. | No action needed. |
| Solid Green Segment | Represents ~20–25% SOC per segment. | Monitor SOC level. |
| Flash Red (Alarm) | Low voltage or high temperature warning. | Check LCD for error code. |
| Solid Red (Protection) | BMS has cut power to protect cells. | Investigate OVP/UVP/SCP. |
3. “Waking” a Dark Display
If both the LCD and LEDs are dark, the BMS is likely in Sleep Mode to conserve power.
- Manual Wake: Hold the Power Button for 3 seconds.
- Automatic Wake: The BMS wakes when it detects incoming charge voltage.
- Black Screen Lockup: If the app works but the screen doesn’t, the display cable may be loose. (Rare in AmpBox units, but check the internal RJ45 display port if needed.)
4. Error Codes You Might See
- OTP (Over‑Temp Protection): Cells are too warm (typically >65°C).
- OVP / UVP: A cell has exceeded safe voltage limits.
- SCP (Short Circuit Protection): Often triggered by inverter inrush; reboot to clear.
Summary: If your Delta is low and your LEDs are green, your AmpBox is performing exactly as it should.
