First App Walkthrough for the JK-BMS

🖥️ First App Walkthrough for the JK BMS

Your orientation to the JK BMS app interface — the cockpit of your 48V battery system

1. What This Setting Does

The First App Walkthrough introduces the three main screens of the JK BMS app:

  • Status Page: Dashboard for real-time voltage, current, and temperature
  • Settings Page: Engine room where you define how your 280Ah cells behave
  • Control Page: Switchboard to manually toggle charging, discharging, and balancing

2. Why It Matters

New JK BMS units often ship in a locked state with Charge and Discharge disabled. Without knowing how to navigate the app, your battery will remain inactive. The interface also alerts you to alarms before they trigger shutdowns.

3. Before You Change Anything

  • Take Screenshots: Save factory defaults before editing
  • Check Voltage: Ensure 16 cells are visible; fewer means wiring issues
  • Passwords: Connect = 1234, Modify Settings = 123456

4. Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Enter the Status screen after connecting
  2. Check Pack Voltage (48–54V for LiFePO4)
  3. Verify all 16 cell voltages (within 0.05V)
  4. Unlock Settings with password 123456
  5. Confirm Battery Type = LiFePO4 ⚠️ Changing type resets other values
  6. Enable Charge, Discharge, and Balance switches in Control page

5. Recommended Values

Setting Value
Cell Count 16
Battery Capacity 280Ah
Run Time Shows uptime since last reset

6. Real-World Example

A builder connects their pack and sees 52V, but the inverter won’t start. On the Status page, “Discharge” is greyed out. They enter the Control page, input 123456, toggle Discharge ON, and the inverter powers up instantly.

7. Common Mistakes

  • Ignoring alarms in red text (e.g., “Cell Under Voltage”)
  • Using 1234 instead of 123456 for settings
  • Changing settings under heavy load — causes disconnects

8. Troubleshooting

  • “Modify PWD In time” Error: Restart app, re-enter 123456 quickly
  • Missing Cells: Check last balance wire
  • Capacity Stuck at 50%: Perform one full charge to calibrate SOC

9. Safety Notes ⚠️

  • Emergency button overrides protections — NEVER use unless survival situation
  • Ensure Temperature Protection is active (LiFePO4 must not charge below 0°C)

10. Quick Summary

  1. Status Page: Verify 16 cells, equal voltages
  2. Settings Page: Enter 123456, set Cell Count = 16, Capacity = 280Ah
  3. Control Page: Enable Charge & Discharge
  4. Screenshot your settings for future reference
