Connecting to Your AmpBox via Bluetooth
Share
With your AmpBox powered on and the LCD illuminated, it’s time to establish a wireless link. Your JK‑PB2A16S uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to communicate with your smartphone, giving you a live dashboard of your battery’s health.
1. Downloading the Official App
The JK BMS App (sometimes listed as “JKBMS” or “ENJPOWER”) is the only tool needed for basic monitoring and configuration.
- Android: Download from the Google Play Store.
- iOS: Available on the Apple App Store.
- Permissions: You must allow Bluetooth and Location Services. On Android, BLE scanning will not work unless Location is enabled.
2. Pairing for the First Time
- Ensure your phone’s Bluetooth is ON and you’re within 5 meters of the AmpBox.
- Open the app and tap the Bluetooth / Scan icon.
- Your AmpBox will appear as JK‑PB2A16S‑XXXX.
- Select your device.
- Connection Password: Enter 1234 when prompted.
3. The Two‑Password System
The JK‑BMS uses two separate passwords, each with a different purpose:
-
Connection / Pairing Password:
1234— Allows viewing battery status. -
Admin / Settings Password:
123456— Required to change parameters or activate the balancer.
4. Connection Troubleshooting
If your AmpBox doesn’t appear in the device list:
- Check for other connections: The JK‑BMS can only connect to one device at a time.
- Refresh Bluetooth: Toggle Bluetooth OFF → ON while the app is open.
- Power Cycle: Press the Reset button on the AmpBox faceplate to reboot the Bluetooth module.
5. Renaming Your AmpBox
Renaming your AmpBox helps keep track of multiple units, especially in parallel systems.
- Open the device list.
- Tap the Edit (pencil) icon.
- Enter a descriptive name (e.g., “Main House Battery”, “AmpBox 1”).
Important Warning: Do NOT change any passwords inside the JK‑BMS app. Multiple users have reported firmware lockouts, failed reconnections, and Bluetooth pairing issues after modifying the default passwords. Keep all passwords at their factory defaults to ensure stable operation.
Summary: You are now wirelessly connected to your AmpBox. The voltage and current shown on your phone should match the values displayed on the LCD.
