Z-Finder Jr

Just wanted to give you guys a quick update on what’s going on with us here at Jag35.com. Lot’s of exciting changes and a lot of new products specifically designed for DSLR shooters are on the way, but we’ll have more news about that very soon, the main reason we wanted to send you guys this news update, is to let you know we have become officially affiliated with Zacuto, and wanted to share a great new offer you might be interested in.

It offers 2.5x focusable magnification, a 40mm diameter Zacuto optical designed lens, an eyecup preventing extraneous light leakage, and a field of view perfectly matched to 3” LCD screens. The Z-Finder Jr. does not have a diopter instead it uses Z-Finder Extender Frames to adjust the focal point. The Z-Finder Jr’s focal point is -2.75 and up (unlimited with extender frames).
The Z-Finder Extender Frames attach to the skirt of the Z-Finder Jr. and allow you to semi-permanently stack the frames until the LCD screen is in focus for you. The Z-Finder Jr. uses a mounting bracket that must be sandwiched in between a tripod plate and the camera. The bracket mounts to the ¼ 20” screw on your tripod plate and the actual Jr. is held in place with pressure from the fork of the bracket it sits in.
They also added a lanyard hook on the outside of the Z-Finder Jr. so you can attach a Zacuto lanyard to it. This allows for the user to quickly take the Z-finder Jr. off and on when needed.
Take advantage of this specially priced Z-Finder Jr for your DSLR Rig today!

Have you tried using the mounting bracket? I found it to be absolutely horrible! Get a mounting frame and gorilla baseplate – much more sturdy!

I agree. We just use the sticky frame. Much less problems.

im assuming there are no -finders out there for a nikon d5000?

  • http://misagarcia.com Misa Garcia

What size LCD screen does that camera have?

  • Assumptionxc

2.6"it also swivels.so i was wondering if i bought the 3" if it would cover up any curcial buttons or fit on right

  • http://misagarcia.com Misa Garcia

I wouldn't know. Don't have that camera to test it on. Hopefully someone has tested this and can post their results here.

which Z-finder would you recommend for the T2i? when it comes dollar for dollar… and can I use it with your cage with the gorilla plate?

  • http://misagarcia.com Misa Garcia

I think the JR is great, and will probably get the job done. If money isn't an issue definitely go for the Pro the Anti-fog glass is definitely worth it, and either way, I recommend going with the sticky frame, to avoid mounting issue and compatibility issues. If you must use the Gorilla plate, which you'd have to buy if you go with the Z-Finder Jr as it's not included, then you'll also have to buy this piece: http://store.zacuto.com/Gorilla-Plate-Adapter.htm… and you'll need to modify the DSLR Cage with some taller stand-offs, which we will make available soon.

GuysnnI’d like to ask you,how could I complete the support of My lumix GH1,to be practical in movie making:I intend to use it with Z-finder and follow focus.I would like to know the complete set and the price, without thinking where can I get that part or the other one.nnGreetingsnGoshi

Well if you don't wanna think, that might be a tough one. But you can jut get the DSLR Baseplate, which will give you bottom rods support on your Camera body, then you can mount your follow focus to those rods, you can order the DSLR Baseplate here: http://jag35.com/new/products/dslr-baseplate/
