This Mount will allow you to attach any 1/4-20 accessory to any single 15mm rod. 1/4-20 works with most on camera microphones, sound recorders, lighting equipment and many other accessories. In addition to being able to mount some accessories directly into the mount you can use any 1/4-20 mini Ballhead, or our goose neck to precisely position devices where you need them.

Yes, you can. We usually suggest you use the Single Railblock, and then mount a Ballhead, and then the Zoom H4n, this will give you more freedom to adjust the device anywhere, but you can mount it direct to the Single Railblock as well. You don’t need the hot shoe mount to conned an arm like this, we actually offer it on our website as well: http://jag35.com/new/products/accessory-arm/
The arm we sell will come with multiple mounting options, 1/4-20 thread (male/female) or hot shoe, if you plan on mounting it with a single railblock you would just use it with the famale 1/4-20 thread, already included.
