We most likely will have the Basic Rig (pictured) then an All included Rig, Top rails, Top handle, and Pro adjustable Weight, you will be able to save by buying everything together. For custom Configurations you will have to choose and put each desired item on the shopping cart it will be a bit more but you will be able to only buy the items you want.

hahaha. expensive if you add 2k to the price.Zacuto's comparable is at least $1,600. Redrock's comparable is at least $1,050. With the Jag35 you also get a great cage to mount stuff to the sides/top of the camera.. and it's a great cage to have for a breakaway rig sometimes for the smallest possible rig with the most mount-ability. So however you look at it with the Jag35 you get half the price for a bit more gear… and more custom options.

On top of that, something we hadn't considered, as we are a new company, hiring people that can get the job done correctly, payin' them, setting up a company as we're finding out is very time consuming and expensive, insurance, workers comp, taxes, taxes ect. ect. do I need to go on. This site is very helpful and I am very interested in your product. I have a 5dII with a BG attached. Will your shoulder rig accommodate the 5dII BG attachment. To begin, I am elated to have found your products. I have been researching Zacuto and Redrock for almost a week now, but in only half an hour, am completely sold on your product. Now, I have read this thread from top to bottom and am about 98% sure the Shoulder Rig comes with a cage, but because the cage is not explicitly listed in the Shoulder Rig Features, I wanted to make sure before agreeing to purchase. Hi guys, I happily pre-ordered this rig. I heavily researched prices and this is by far the most affordable shoulder mount dual handle rig I have seen. The indie version (compareable in price) I recently saw at pma expo in melbourne Australia was bulky and had too many long levers hanging off it – did not look finished and clean – looked home made compared to the jag35. Not too mention tht the jag35 also comes with the cage. I originally ordered this setup with an additional cage as I thought it was too cheap to include it!!! But it does! It's a shame how some people think this is expensive, but I guess you can't please everyone. Any news on a date for it's shipping? Do you have many preorders?

It was extremely easy to setup and very easy to work with. The entire balance of the setup is perfect in my opinion, I've used the Redrock and its a bit heavier than my Jag setup. I recently broke my collarbone and haven't rehabilitated it and I was scared that a shoulder right would really fatigue me but I was wrong. 1 thing I would recommend which Im thinking about ordering is the top handle. I will try and get some hands on video with my setup.

Can the offset be modified or inversed? Say I want to have it on the rig on my right shoulder but look with my left eye can I offset it further to the left? Or had I wanted to have it on my left shoulder and look through my left eye would it possible to offset it to the right?(I look through the viewfinder with my left eye when filming)

Rods are not too short, but if you need to, you can use longer rods on the front. We will have 8" rods available very soon.

Spent a bit of time using the shoulder rig yesterday and let me say, wow! Very good stuff. I just got into the DSLR stuff and realized very quickly that a decent rig was a must.The only 2 concerns I have about it are about the two pieces that hold the cross bar (with the handle bars). The thumb screws that it came with are a hair too short. When I have the included washers on them they just don't quite thread good enough and can pop off. Not a huge issue at all… I just took the washers off and everything is great. The other this I wanted to say was that the one rig I received has a different weight mounting piece. It works great for off setting the weight but there is no way to have the weight centered on the bars without it falling off. Not an issue at all, just something that is different from what is pictured above. This rig is an amazing piece of work though and I love it. I can't wait to get out and use it some more. Thanks again Jag35 for making such a great item available for a reasonable price!

Is there any videos of this rig and using the follow focus ? The front rods look a little bit small. What I can see this rig looks like it has better over all use then many other. The cage is a good solution to the problem of having an onboard monitor for the camera. And the weight plate is a nice extra comfort.

Zacuto Rods are very high quality rods. They consistently maintain their tolerances, and are very light. Jag35 rods are solid aluminum so they are a bit heavier and not as consistent in thickness as the zacuto rods. It's much easier to adjust your rig with zacuto rods.

Can I use this kit with a Nikon D3s?

Hi Oscar, You don't need anything else to mount a follow focus or matte box to this kit, you can just mount them on the bottom rods below the camera. Unfortunately this rig doesn't not include a baseplate so you can mount it, we call that piece a tripod plate, which basically gives you a flat surface with 1/4-20 threads so you can attach your quick release or whatever, you can get that separately either from the related products section on this page or from this page: http://jag35.com/new/products/tripod-plate/

I see that the Rull Rig w/Zacuto rods is available again which is awesome, but is it possible for me to order a special one, because i tend to attach both follow focus and matte box on the rig, so probably the 2 rods under the cage (for mount ff and matte box) should be longer…So what i mean is " is it ok if i want to replace the 2 short rods with 2 longer rods (obviously Zacuto rods), if it is possible, i need your suggestion about a perfect replacement length for those new rods, i also aware that the price will be extra, just let me know how to make my special order and the new price i will be charged. I might interested in the hybrid gear, but the only thing difference here as i saw is the Shoulder Pad Part's rods, the hybrid's rods (shoulder pad part) are longer than the original version..so what is this part from the Hybrid made from?? I mean, they are made from like 2 ultra long rods or made up by 4 rods together?? If so, how does the Zacuto become easier compare to Zag35 rods?

So like you said, if i use the Jag35 tripod plate, i will be able to take the whole system including the follow focus and matte box. So exactly i will have todo is attach the tripod plate into the same rods which contain the follow focus and matte box right? And later on if we want to take take the group of cage and follow focus, matte box to the tripod we just need to remove rods under the cage out of the offset railblock. And if we want to use the tripod plate with the quick release system, this time we will mount the sliding release plate under the Jag35 tripod plate, the quick release adapter will be on the tripod. At the moment it's taking us about 2 weeks to ship D|Focus orders.

1. The Straight Rig actually ships with Jag35 20" Rods at the moment, but you very soon you'll be able to order with Zacuto rods. Zacuto doesn't make 20" rods, so it'll ship with 12" rods and 8" extension rods. The other great thing about zacuto rods is that they are threaded on both sides, so you can extend the rods by screw two together. Jag35 rods don't have threads yet.nn2. That plate you see there, is just a tripod plate mounted upside down, we were using this simply as a flat surface that we can attach devices to. We had the monitor battery attach to it.nn3. Yes you are correct on this. We've never really seen anyone set up the quick release the way cameratown did, but it's an option if you wanna do it. We figured everyone would want to take their camera along with their follow focus together, so you can mount your quick release below your DSLR Baseplate and attach it to the Tripod plate, like you described.nnNot a problem. Hope this clears things up a bit for you and others, it's why we like answering questions thru live comments.

It really depends on what lenses you plan on using…. for most lenses you'll be fine using the 6.5" zacuto rods, you should be able to mount your follow focus and matte box no problem, but if you plan on using longer lenses, like 70-200 or something like that, then you'll probably need to go with the 8" rods. Since your DSLR Camera will be mounted to our DSLR Cage, you won't be able to use your Gorilla plate, however, our new Quick release plate for the DSLR Cage will allow you to attach the mounting frame from your gorilla plate, so you can attach your Z-Finder no problem. Yes, yes you can. You can either mount the gorilla plate straight to the baseplate on the Full Shoulder rig, or you can use our new plate which will allow you to mount your Z-Finder mounting frame on it. More info on this this coming week.

You might wanna wait for us to post these options this coming week. We basically designed our DSLR Cage with a quick release that includes the ability to attach your Z-Finder mounting frame to it, instead of mounting it to your gorilla plate, this way it’s easier to mount straight to the DSLR Cage. Do you you guys have anything in the works for an accessory that could attach to this, or other items, that would be another support, like a body brace, or a bar extending towards the chest/arm area? The Fourth picture is simply the same shoulder rig just configured different, Ron of Cameratown basically took all the pieces included with the shoulder rig, and re-configured them this way for a different way of shooting. We are not working on setup like the one your talking about, but it can definitely be adjusted to that using the same pieces. Others have done it.

The GH1/GH2 will mount great inside of the cage, but we designed the Full shoulder rig cage to work seamlessly with the Canon 5D/7D, T2i . You will not be able to easily remove your battery and you will not be able to open up the lcd all the way because one of the rods on the cage gets in the way.

The Gorilla plate is not compatible with the cage, we have modified the quick release system in our cage to accept the Z-Finder mounting frame, so instead of tryin’ to mount your gorilla plate inside the DSLR Cage you can now simply attach your z-finder mounting frame directly to the DSLR Cage’s quick release plate and then you can attach the z-finder direct to that. The quick release will give you the same adjustments you get with the gorilla plate, so you can place the mounting frame correctly on your camera’s LCD. We have no idea, when we designed our rigs ,we made them with the canon 5D/ 7D and t2i in mind. We have never tried fitting a Nikon D7000 inside of our Cage.

Yes, you can mount the LCDVF to the most basic shoulder rig, you won’t be mounting it to the rig, you’ll be mounting it to the camera’s LCD.

You would only get the Z-Finder Ready version if you plan on mounting a Zacuto Z-Finder Viewfinder.

3. It actually works out, if you want to get the extended handles we can definitely do it, which I believe is the same price difference. So we can trade the DSLR Cage for the Extended handles. If I buy this rig, with a D follow focus, will the follow focus fit onto the rails? It looks to me the rails are to short, and the DSLR is held to high. If I buy just the shoulder rig and the D focus, nothing else, will my DSLR and follow focus come together?

Well it really depends on a couple of things. What type of shoots do you do? If you need something small / compact for short hand held shoots, then the affordable way is probably to go with the Field Runner Kit: http://jag35.com/new/products/the-field-runner/
But if your looking for a more comfortable rig, one which will let you shoot for longer periods of time and keep your shot stable, then I suggest you go with the Full DSLR Shoulder Rig, however, since you plan on using your Battery Grip, I suggest you get it without the DSLR Cage, instead, you can use our new Quick Release Gorilla stand: http://jag35.com/new/products/gorilla-stand/

Hi KK,1. We will still offer the Version with the DSLR Cage included, just give us a little time to add the option2. It does not come with a DSLR Cage, we replaced the DSLR Cage with options… you can either get it with DSLR Cage a standard DSLR Stand, or you can choose the Gorilla Stand, so you can use it with a Z-Finder Gorilla plate. Haven’t tried this, but I’m gonna assume that it’s probably not gonna lineup correctly, the distance from from the DSRL stand platform to the rods is set for use of course with DSLRs, so your distance from rods to center of the lens might be different on that camera, not sure where it would land, meaning that now the Mattebox might not lineup correctly, of course, depending on what type of mattebox you’ll be using, if it’s a lens shade that mounts to your lens, then you’ll be fine, but not if it’s a proper mattebox that mounts to rods.

Hi Jimmy, the DSLR Cage is optional, you can order it with a cage if you want, just choose it from the options, if it’s easier, try using our new Shopping Cart – http://j35.us/offset-rig

As far as mounting devices like a Zoom or any other device, you can use a ballhead (http://j35.us/ballheadmount) mount together with a single Railblock (http://j35.us/singlerb) and you’ll be able to mount it anywhere on the rig, where you have rod space available.

No it’s definitely not. We don’t really like battery grips, they offset the camera both front to back and side to side, so it’s really hard to design a cage that works with all of the different Battery Grip models out there. You can definitely add more weight if you want, by using railblocks and accessory arms, although we usually don’t get people tryin’ to add more weight to this rig, it comes with a 4lb weight, it’s usually enough, I guess depending on your rig.
