You can still close it, but the screen will be facing outward, not inward.

I was really looking forward to having my Monitor X before the weekend. My order was placed almost 6days ago & I can understand the holidays which would slow things up a bit but I was told that my order should be going out by monday and its now wednesday & Im just getting confirmation that order was sent out today. A little unclear on the mounting process. Is the Monitor-X designed to be permanently on the lcd, or can be added and removed a theoretical infinite number of times with no resulting effect on the unit’s mounting effectiveness?

not sure what special you are referring to, we’ve done a couple of different special offers, but those usually run only on weekends. Keep checking the website for more weekend deals.

The Monitor X is designed to mount with a sticky frame, like a lot of other viewfinders. You apply the sticky frame to your camera’s LCD and leave it there, then you can mount your Monitor X on and off from the camera’s LCD. Only the sticky frame stays on attached to your camera, Hope this helps.

Okay, so if the sticky frame loses its adhesive quality for some reason, what would be your suggestion? Just use off the shelf double sided tape, or you do sell something for this eventuality.

Yeah, you can get the 3M double sided tape, but the Monitor X includes a couple of extra adhesive strips in the package.

Yes we tested this at Photocine Expo on the D7000 and it fit just fine

Definitely not. The frame would be in the way, you can close it with the screen side facing outward.

No it doesn’t work that way, we are definitely thinking about making an adapter frame that will allow you to use the Monitor X on a Z-Finder frame, but it’s not ready

There is a video of photo suit expo in the video section of monitor x… it shows a different kind of a view-finder which can rotate and can be adjusted at different level also. It is different from what is shown in other two videos. when is it getting launched? Do you ship in India too?

It’s a 1/4-20 thread in case you have something you wanna mount to it, we included this just in case, we haven’t really used it for anything specific.

Hi, we don’t really sell lenses. We only offer a few lenses for people who use 35mm adapters with their camcorders. So we only have a few used Canon FD 50mm f1.4 and f1.8 lenses. Hi, any ETA on the monitor x version that can mount on a Z-finder frame? I could really use. My Z-finder frame and gorilla plate are always connected to my 7D. its hard to use something else with it that I have to dismantle the Z-finder frame and plate.

I’m having problems with the weight of the Monitor X being too heavy for the sticky adhesive, and it keeps falling off of my 60d LCD display. Is there any way to secure the monitor to the camera body without it falling off?

if you are using the sticky frame it came with it might be that you applied it wrong. If the sticky part unsticks from the camera then you applied it wrong or to a dirty screen.
If the frame sticks but the Monitor X falls off that means you probably received a faulty frame which in that case we can replace it

The Monitor X unit comes with a sticky frame, you attach the frame using the provided double sided tape to the back of your camera’s LCD, then you can attach the Monitor X on and off from the camera.

One of my favorite features of my 60D is that I can fold the LCD screen in, facing the camera for protection. I’ve read that with the mounting frame, I won’t be able to do that. Is there any way for me to use the Monitor X and still be able to close the LCD?

Only if you wanna try and remove the sticky frame everything it’s not in use, which I don’t really see feasible. The other option is to try and mount the Monitor X using the 1/4-20 threaded holes on it, using either an accessory arm or a Z-finder frame gorilla plate from Zacuto, but you’ll be losing the ability to move your LCD around, which is the great thing about the 60D.

Hi, There is another way for you to mount the Monitor X, You would need a Gorilla Plate: http://jag35.com/gorillaplate.html and Monitor X Z Frame Adapter: http://jag35.com/zframeadapter.html and you will also need Z-Finder Mounting Frame. All of these pieces are required if you do not want to use the sticky frame. If you order the items I recommended to you, the Monitor X will be against the screen of your camera
