Will work with our DSLR Cage, but will also work with many other setups, anyone that wants to try these out, you definitely can, they are available and will be shipping right away.
*ANOTHER NOTE: If you plan to use this monitor with a DSLR thru the HDMI, you will need to also buy an HDMI cable, we do offer one, you can find it in the Related Products. Also if you need this monitor to be powered portably, then you will also need to buy a Jag Battery and Power Cable or a LP-E6 monitor power plate to power it using your 5Dmk2, 7D, or 60D batteries. These products are not included with the Monitor.
**NOTE: If you need to use this monitor outdoors we recommend are 7″ Sun Hood
Glad to see Jag35 jump in on the HD DSLR train. This will defiantly be my next purchase after my Z-Finder. For that price and features, you cant' pass this up.

We won't offer one, we believe it to be a bad idea to mount the monitor straight to your camera's hotshoe. But the monitor has the standard 1/4-20 hole, in case you wanna try it. We will be offering mounting solutions very soon, working on those options now.

ive been thinking about getting the marshall monitor which 4x more. Is there a noticeable delay from the camera to the display? also, how is the sharpness. This is an incredible deal and im torn between it and an lcdvf. My hoodman loupe sucked, and need a better viewfinder or monitor.

I'm saving up for a Canon T2i and would like to know if the Jag35 monitor would be compatible with this camera as well as my camcorder Canon XHA1. Also, I'm hoping that you will continue making a DOF adapter for this camcorder so I can use this as my B camera. Which DOF adapter would you recommend? Thanks in advance. Jose

Hi Jose,
The Monitor has two connections VGA and HDMI. I believe the Canon T2i has HMDI so that will connect from HMDI to HDMI, not sure about the XAH1, I'm sure it's possible somehow, but we don't offer the cable for it.
Of course we will continue offering Jag35 DOF Adapters for your camcorder. If you wanna use it with your XHA1 I suggest you get the Jag35Pro w/ 72mm achromat, that should screw right in to your camera's filter thread.

I don't understand your question. If you use this monitor on your HV20, you can just invert the image in the monitor options, so there's no need for fliphack anymore.

If you notice the pictures it comes with a 1/4-20 threaded option below the Monitor, so you can mount it with any accessory, we offer a couple of options, like the Ballhead Mount, which mounts perfectly to the new DSLR Cage. We will be posting a couple of more options today.

Jose, it might be helpful to know that if you have an external monitor plugged in, the T2i disables the screen when you record. It seems like the T2i HDMI port is designed only for playback, not recording. I don't know if the VGA-out on the T2i is the same way or not.
The 1Div, 7D and 5Dii have no such problems. It will definitely work with your XHA1. You can read more about it here:

Hi Garret,
I was a bit confused when I read your comment. Just to clarify. You can connect an external monitor to the T2i press record and still view the image in the External Monitor while you record, however because the T2i changes the ratio format, you're discouraged from recording on an external source thru the HDMI output. Just wanted to clarify.
Also, if you don't mind, can you explain how you connect the ext. monitor to your XHA1?

For the price, can't be beat.
Use it all the time for anything but minimum rig
on the go shooting.

Any way you guys could start a series of web videos demonstrating your various products? I'm going to be picking up a 7d soon and am currently looking into what kind of kit will best fit my needs. You have a lot of interesting looking products, but there's no video reviews of them anywhere, very little info from people who have used them. A video series (similar to what Cinevate does) could help you inform people like me (the consumer! ) about the ways your products differ and best some of the others (besides your low prices, which are great!). Thanks!

Does the image on the screen appear as it does to the eye or is it mirrored when hooked up to a video camera using a jag35 pro? I know there is an invert image option on the monitor I just wanted to be clear on what this does. I get that you can flip the image I'm just fuzzy on what that means.

ok so monitor resolution is 800×480, the camera will send out a hd signal from HDMI, but your monitor wont display an hd signal then. I am curious to really see the monitor connected to a 5d or 7d. It sounds like the best we can get is slightly better then SD. Which really isnt gonna do it for someone who wants a true hd external monitor for 5D or 7D. Do you have any video of the monitor connected to an HDMI output? I really need to see actual screen shots.

It really depends on the type of shoot you'll be doing, on the go run and gun handheld, I'd say your better off with the Zacuto Z-Finder – http://jag35.com/new/products/z-finder-jr/but if your working in a studio like environment, the monitor is probably better. Outdoors you should definitely get a hood. Keep in mind that this isn't a professional video monitor, it's more designed for consumer use, it's great for framing and critical focus, not quite the best for color correcting. Hope this helps.

Jehu, or staff: I am trying to make a final decision on a purchase here. And I am still getting conflicting stories from everyone, as usual. Here are my options I can purchase Marshall V-LCD70XP-HDMI-CM 7" LCD Field Monitor w/Canon Mount, but after more reading the marshall screen resolution is the same as yours 800 x 480? Which means were still not going to have a true HD resolution on the monitor. Besides peaking and false color, the resolution is the same, so I am wondering if spending $1000.00 on a monitor is really cost effective? My other choice is a 2 part choice, the LCDVFor Z-Finder and your HDMI monitor? Now my rig sits on a Cinevate Core package, so the LCD viewfinder isnt always going to be feasible to use. So I am going to be depending on the external monitor a lot. Do I need a monitor that can out out HD for critical focus. I have a 7" LCD4Video 480×240 monitor i have for my 12' jib crane and I can't pull any decent critical focus with that monitor. So it appears your monitor is somewhere between a 720p resolution and a 480 resolution. Is this 800×400 enough to pull proper focus? I know you guys are a good bunch of guys and I trust your word, I bought your stuff when you first started selling gear. So if you tell me I should get the Marhsal monitor, then thats what I will do. If you tell me your more affordable monitor will accomplish almost the same picture quality less the peaking, then I will get yours. I just cant seem to get an honest answer from anyone. Tired of buying gear twice you know. Thanks. Ed

Yes, the monitor comes with a power supply that you can plug in to the wall and use it that way, in a studio like environment.

Hi Ed,This monitor is 800 x 480, and in my opinion is great for critical focusing and framing. Keep in mind that this is not a pro-monitor, as I'm sure you know, so it won't offer pro features like peaking and also won't offer the best color. But for the price, you can't really beat it. The other thing we like about it, it's that it's so light and compact, we have both this and Marshall, and we find ourselves always using this monitor, but then again, also keep in mind that we not professional shooters, we like our rigs small and compact and of course above all affordable. So this is our perspective. The other thing you might wanna think about is, how picky you are with your gear, because this is a consumer monitor, it won't offer the pro-features, and isn't setup for video shooting working environment, so mounting a battery to make this a portable monitor, might need some figuring out. If you don't mind havin' to think of it or using some less than professional solutions, then this works perfect for you. But if your gonna expect a perfect product that was designed with your pro-needs in mind, than this might not be the product for you.Hope this helps

Check out Leo's video, right above your comment: Perfect example of what I was talking about. The people that love this monitor, are generally people who don't mind figuring stuff out on their own, and coming up with their own solutions for issues that arise. Most of the time, if price plays a factor in which equipment you will buy, then you'll have to be this type of consumer. here's a link to this video: http://vimeo.com/11894721

I've been thinking about buying a monitor for my T2i. My question is I can afford the monitor but I cant afford the cage right now, do you sell or know of any places where I can get an adaptor that would attach the monitor to the top of my T2i directly. I have seen photos where people did this with their 5d but I wasnt sure if that would work on a T2i. I plan to eventually get the cage but have to wait due to me having a battery grip on my t2i.

I read this from another post, "as long as your camera have an hdmi port, you should be able to connect it with an HDMI cable". I don't see an HDMI input on the specs? How should I accomplish the higher resolution that this monitor can display using HDMI or RGB component cables? Thanksnn

Canon 5D D.P.
Awesome monitor. Just wrapped a music video. HDMI was great but Thank God for the standard def option. Had to Y-Cable some RCA cables off the Camera, Monitor, and 50ft BNC run to 24" HD monitor…but in Standard-Def. Our HDMI splitter had some challenges, could've been our cables. Anyway, Monitor in HDMI was perfectly fine to focus pull on a Canon 5D MarkII 24-105mm lens. Focus pulling in Standard Def not recommended with Canon 5D!

The Jag35 Monitor on this page, is currently in stock and available for purchase. Not sure which item shows as sold out for you.
You will need an HDMi cable to get the image to show up on your monitor, your camera has an HDMI port and so does the monitor, In picture 6 the port on the left side is the HDMI port. http://jag35.com/new/products/hdmi-cable/

Hey Guys,
If I purchased a Jag35 Monitor, an LP-E6 battery plate and a digi-viewer eye cup, would you throw in the monitor hood in as a bonus for being such a loyal customer. My production company has also purchased a D-Focus, a FieldRunner and we’re probably going to buy an HDMI Splitter and a battery pack for that as well (we’ll need your power cables for these as well).
Also in reference to the battery plate any chance that you’ll manufacture a cable to power a Tascam DR-100? If so we’ll probably pick up one of those too. One stop shopping @ JAG35.com ; )
http://misagarcia.com Misa Garcia
might be able to hook you up if we have it in stock. Send me an email.
http://misagarcia.com Misa Garcia
Yeah it should work fine… your HF200 has an HMDI port correct?
http://misagarcia.com Misa Garcia
Not really. lilliput gets their monitors from the same place we do.

I’ve got the Jag35ST that I use with a Sony HVR HD-1000. If I purchase this monitor can you guys do a flip hack on it for me?
http://misagarcia.com Misa Garcia
If you get this monitor and mount it on your rig, you can just invert the image in the monitor. Those options are included in the monitors options already.

Misa, we just received your monitor…we are using it with a 5D. Does the monitor change the aspect when you start recording, or is that the 5D? Thanks.
http://misagarcia.com Misa Garcia
That’s the 5D doing that. It’ll do it with any monitor you connect to it. It’s not pretty.
Mike
Can you attach the monitor to the hot shoe mount on the 7D?
http://jag35.com Stacie
Sure except you’ll need to find an adapter for the monitor and we don’t carry them.

Curious if anyone has used this with a RED?? Is the screen ‘scalable’… some of the RED menu options get cut off on a lot of monitors.
Also… can this be powered using an Anton Bauer Hytron battery? I’m looking to use it as a Steadicam monitor. Thanks.
http://misagarcia.com Misa Garcia
Probably not, If your using a RED why not just use the RED LCD? or a professional monitor. This is a consumer monitor!
http://misagarcia.com Misa Garcia
” Is it close the 7D’s original LCD Screen? ” I’m not sure I understand your question. When you plug in any HDMI device to your Canon 7D, it will take over the signal, and you won’t be able to use the original LCD on the camera. So you can’t use the Monitor AND the DSLR’s LCD at the same time, if you need to use two screens however, you can use an HDMI splitter and connect two monitors, we have these splitters available.
Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.

Hello, it depends on what camera system you are using, if your camera outputs sound then you will be able to, most DSLR cameras do not but most video cameras will. You can also email us for more help.

Maybe it will work because of the HDMI but we have not tested it to say for sure you try it out and if it does not work out for you, then you can return it here is our return policy: http://jag35.com/store.php/returns?___store=default

Hi Mike,
It can work possibly work because of the HDMI but with DSLR cameras you will not have a full image on the monitor if you would like more info feel free to emails us
