Will the cage size be expandable. For example if users want to use a battery grip for the DSLR will the cage be able to be expand to fit the cam body?

Just got a battery grip, unfortunately it will not work with this first version, the grip is bigger than the cameras body so it gets in the way of the posts that hold the top plate, Will modify design on V2 to allow grips and 1D bodies to be used.

Im curious about the photos for the the cage that include the small rail system on the top. What accessories are holding the rods besides the follow focus? It actually looks like the D|focus comes with one of them, but there is no option for buying separately.

Is it possible to mount the cage without the bottom plate using a ¼" 20 screw? I'd like to use the cage with a Zacuto DSLR baseplate so I can utilize their rod support system for the new Compact Primes 2. The cage would be great to mount a top handle and accessories and just to protect the fragile body of the Canon 5D mk II. The problem is that the bottom plate of this cage sticks out way too far and would get in the way of all that.

Better yet if I could get a cage that has two top plates and is tall enough to fit the mk II w/ battery grip, I think that would work smashingly!

Okay so as far as shoulder mount… i'm not asking the same question that's already been asked lol.If you guys don't come out with a shoulder mount.. couldn't i use this rig handheld and then if i want to use some sort of should or chest support slide the tripod mount section rods into the redrock gear?http://www.redrockmicro.com/dslr/index.html#eyesp…like use their rods as the rods under the tripod mount?just wondering… cause if so i'll have no worries buying all your gear. it seems it would be the same feel as their tripod mount just more possibilites with the Jag35 cage. pretty much i'de love to use the Jag35 cage and pop it on other manufacturer's shoulder mounts or chest mounts or steadicam? i dunno…

Will this cage work on a T2i with a battery grip on it? I love my D/Gear for my focus on my lens. It helps out so much!

Nevermind about my question, I saw below that someone asked the same question about the cage fitting on a T2i with a battery grip. I just realized that The T2i is also called a 550D and a Kiss.

I currently have an IndiSystem follow Focus and Matte Box for DSLR that i bought off of a friend. Would they be mountable on the DSLR cage? What would i need? I know they can mount of 15mm rods…but past that I'm not sure.

Sure, You'll have a couple of options. You either get the DSLR Baseplate (http://jag35.com/new/products/dslr-baseplate/) which will give you bottom rods on your rig, and you can mount your follow focus and matte box that way, or you can get the DSLR Cage v2 (http://jag35.com/new/products/dslr-cage/) along with the bottom rods, and you can mount your stuff that way plus you can also mount other stuff directly to the top of the cage, and you can convert this later to a full shoulder rig, by adding more parts and rods.

It wasn't designed for an EX3 so it hasn't been tested for that, I don't have an EX3, but I'm just gonna guess and say it won't fit inside the cage.

These are the changes from the Jag35 Cage to the DSLR Cage V3 : This model also allows for easy access to the Battery without the need to detach from the camera from the DSLR Cage. Our last update to our DSLR Cage was the quick release plate, which now all our DSLR Cages ship with. This basically makes it so that you can attach the quick release plate, which is included with every Cage to your DSLR Camera, then you can easily mount your camera to the DSLR Cage, this was requested by many so we finally decided to upgrade it, after we were able to make some changes to the design of the DSLR Cage. We hope that this will solve some of the issues people were havin’ with mounting the camera to the Cage. And also, Our latest update on this product is basically only made to the quick release plate, we have modified it to accept the Z-Finder mounting frame, so instead of tryin’ to mount your gorilla plate inside the DSLR Cage you can now simply attach your z-finder mounting frame directly to the DSLR Cage’s quick release plate and then you can attach the z-finder direct to that. The quick release will give you the same adjustments you get with the gorilla plate, so you can place the mounting frame correctly on your camera’s LCD. This will be an optional feature when ordering your DSLR Cage, or if you already have a DSLR Cage with the quick release plate, you can just buy the new quick release plate upgrade, to add to your kit.

I’m pretty sure it will work, I don’t for-see havin’ any issues with, bodies are fairly similar in size, But you can definitely mount a top handle and zoom H4n to the Cage or anything else you want, that’s the whole point of the cage.
