How stable is the Field Runner without a counterweight?

No they are designed to stick to the camera's LCD and not really be removable. You can remove it, but then you'll need to re-apply double sided tape to the sticky frame again… If you need to mount the same digifinder to multiple cameras, then just buy an extra sticky frame.

What is the difference between the Jag or the Zacuto rods? Which ones are black?

The Black ones are the Jag35 Rods, the silver / grey are Zacuto rods. Main difference is quality. The Zacuto rods are superior in quality, they are hollow aluminum which means they weight less than the Jag35 rods.

I suggest 12″ rods. That’s what we ship our full shoulder rigs, with.

Is the View Finder compatible with the 60D?

Yes, get the 5D/7D version.

If you want to use a 7D with a Battery Grip on the Field Runner you should get the Straight Offset, no need to have the camera raised even more since your camera is high enough with the battery grip.

The HF200 will mount great on the field runner. We have not tested the field runner out with a the HF200 but if the screen is hard to see, what you can do is get a monitor and mount the monitor in the front of your rig so that you can shoot off the screen.

What is the difference between zacuto and normal rods?

Zacuto Rods are hollow aluminum and our Jag35 rods are solid aluminum, which means that the Zacuto rods are lighter, also the machining process to create zacuto rods is much more precise which means they hold tolerances much tighter, so moving railblocks across the rods is smoother on the zacuto rods. Im sorry but it would not be suitable. We tested out the digi finder with the GH1 and GH2 and it did not work.

The digirunner comes with a Digi Finder and the Field runner does not.
