We are pleased to announce the JAG35 electronic follow focus system designed for HDSLR use. An entry level remote follow focus system that will not only be easy to use but also easy on your pocket. Initially available in a wired configuration it will also be compatible with a future wireless system.
The Wired system is based around the M1 a small and light 15mm rod mountable controller that can be powered using our Li-On battery system. The controller can be installed on any 15mm rod and can swivel to find the perfect position to be in reach of your hands even while holding the handles of a shoulder rig. Its compatible with both our regular handles and our Extended Handles for maximum comfort.
There are 3 motors, The J1 is light and fast, It rotates the lens barrel 150° making it compatible with most Canon still lenses. The J2 has metal internal gears and higher torque, faster speed, and it rotates the lens barrel 150°. This motor also has the added feature of being able to be used on either side of the lens by swiveling the motor head.
The J3 motor is designed for longer throw lenses like the Canon 85mm f1.2. It motor rotates the lens barrel approximately 230° making it compatible with older manual still lenses also.
All 3 motor models are compatible with the M1 controller and will also be compatible with our wireless controller.
Will the final version be as loud, as this one seems to be, in the video?

How does it perform with small, fine adjustments?
http://misagarcia.com Misa Garcia
Yes it will probably be loud. It’s just the nature of these motors. You’ll definitely need to use external mics in order to record proper sound when using the remote follow focus, also, while making small subtle adjustments, the motor isn’t as loud, you’ll only hear the loud motor when making long rack focus from infinity to near. Other than that it should be ok.

It performs pretty well actually… we’ll be posting some more videos to show this very soon.

Oh god, this would be perfect for my jib if I could extend the cable. Could I?
http://misagarcia.com Misa Garcia
Yes, you can extend the cables, or coming in a few months, we’ll be offering the wireless controller.

Whats about the noise it makes
http://misagarcia.com Misa Garcia
It will make some noise, there’ no getting around it with these motors. You’ll definitely need to use an external mic to capture sound another way.

hi,we are interested in buying the electronic follw focs kit…what else do we need to use it? the DSLR Stand?
thanks a lot!

You would also need the DSLR baseplate in order to mount the motor to your camera. http://jag35.com/new/products/dslr-baseplate/ You will also need at least one lens gear for your lenses.
http://misagarcia.com Misa Garcia
Will be posting some more tests very soon. Sorry we haven’t gotten a chance to record them. Check back soon in the videos section.

Are any of your motors compatible with the Ziess Compact Prime lens, that is, w/o using the supplied lens gear? Also, the CPs can rotate 360 degrees. Thx in advance.

OMG. This is amazing. If it does well for slow focus it will be perfect for me. How far away can the wireless transmitter be used and still work fine? I want to get a 12-14′ camera crane and be able to focus remotely. Thanks!
http://misagarcia.com Misa Garcia
according to the specs, and under the perfect conditions, it should go as far as 1000FT
Corey
Wow. That is great? Can you give some kind of price range? It seems so perfect, but I get the feeling it’s gonna be pretty pricey or am I wrong?
Hi Damian, your credit card will happy very soon! our goal is to have it ready within the first qtr of this year! but at the moment I do not have a set date to give you

Hello,
The WEFF V2 is currently available on the site (http://jag35.com/products/followfocus/weffv2.html). However, due to its demand; we do have a two-week lead-time on them. If there is anything else, I can help you with; feel free to email us back.
Hope that was helpful
